Hot Stuff

Menopause. Hot Flashes.

Yup, we are going there. This is a number one question I get when we are talking “middle age”. Menopause is very different for everyone. Some people have hardly any issues, others have all the symptoms and everything in between.

Alternate Realities

I find my 50’s fascinating. I have moved to TWO 55 and older communities (to be clear - Husband is over 55 :P ) and it’s been a great way to stop, pause and reflect on what I want our older age to look like. We have a larger community in Florida of over 600 people and our smaller place in the foothills in North Georgia is about 150 people

Step Off the Platform

My 50th birthday was fast approaching. Getting the “what do you want to do’s” from the parents, Husband and friends. I had no big ideas, and the thought of turning 50 a few weeks out didn’t bother me at all. I mean, I know you are as old as you think and 50 is just a number so I went about my business. Are You a Stress Addict?

Everyone has that friend. The one that seems to be running from one crisis to another. The one that when you FINALLY get back from your lunch date that she rescheduled three times, you are exhausted. Regular - On the Daily

I’m always amazed at what people think regular is.  AND how many people use laxatives. Yowza! Since I get enough of this question, I figured a quick article was necessary.

When doing Whole30, many people end up doing a low carb version of it, just because of ease.  Whole30 is not low carb, but many people naturally go towards that end. Low carb can create a little bit of a problem for your intestines initially.

My Not So Secret Spot

My spot was secret for a good 10 years.  Then the Instagram crowd found it. The last few years it's been much busier, but it still speaks to my soul.

Tulum, Quintana Roo is a beautiful place to visit.  I’ve had so many people ask me about it that I figured since it’s so popular, it’s time to fess up and give you all my contacts.

Lesson of the Lamp

I reference this missive from Melissa Urban often.  So often that it needs to live on my website for quick reference.  I also wanted to talk about setting boundaries with people because we tend to give too much of ourselves to everyone in the name of kindness.  But not enough to our most precious resource - self-care.

Here’s all the coupon codes I have.  Some are Whole30 Approved or Compliant, others are lifestyle based, but here’s the compendium.

Some have codes that will get you a percentage off.  Some just use the link and typically they will send you some samples or something equally fun.

Ashwagahdha - whaaaatt?

What the hell is Ashwagandha?  What the hell is an adaptogen?

It’s all the rage the last few years and it’s finally becoming a bit more mainstream, so I figured I’d let you in on the scoop, now that it’s not so far down the hippie rabbit hole any longer. :)
